Branded website medical illustrations for a patient audience
The Friedman Center is dedicated to helping women who have breast cancer or are at high risk for breast cancer. They offer state-of-the-art breast reconstruction and support services in a serene and comforting environment.
Empowering women with knowledge to make informed decisions about their breast reconstruction journey is vital for the team at the Friedman Center. Their reinvigorated website reflects their warmth and welcoming environment. Our roles in this project were to support them with medical illustrations that conveyed a soft and feminine appearance as well as a strong sense of their patient-centred approach.
Illustrations needed to fit well as features on the client’s brand colours as well as be translated into animations. The client expressed their interest in creating professional and elegant designs with an element of fluidity and a sense of movement, whilst incorporating their branding.
We provided flowing illustrations with a clean and smooth appearance, the simple flowing linework helped to reinforce their welcoming brand.

Step 1
We start with an initial rough sketch to figure out the key anatomy and components of the illustration. This is then sent out to our clients for review.

Step 2
The rough sketch is then tightened up and client feedback notes are implemented. At this state, we begin to explore how we can begin to incorporate brand colours to our illustration to help it align seamlessly with the website. This is then sent off for another review with our clients.

Step 3
Now that we have the anatomy and key messages approved, we dive in and implement brand colours and stylize the illustration to better align with the overall website design and theme.
